Is probably the word going through your head.
Or rather, FUCK YES. I’m going to do it. Wait, don’t go. DON’T CLOSE THIS PAGE. Hear me out! I have decided to change my name to
Also, I’m going to switch back to blogger. (blogspot) Yeah, I know that people think that blogspot is really unprofessional and things like that. But it has really really changed and I feel compelled to give it a chance. That is not the main reason though.
The main reason is that I’ve decided to get back to the coding and designing scene. Without a premium membership I just can’t do that on wordpress. I’m a geek after all. I like to half full control over the code in my own damn blog. So I’m going to learn from the start again how to make a good website.
Yes, there’s no need to remind me how much this name means. I know fully well how much this means to me. But like I’ve said before, all things come to an end. I feel that this is the time where I need to say goodbye to my past self and take a brave step forward. It will take a lot of getting use to a name that has stuck with me for 4 years.
Sigh, I’m feeling a little sentimental now.
Just trust me, this is definitely worth it. For the moment, I will continue to update both blogs at the same time, up until Monday, 10th October 2011, before I officially make the switch over.
So that you know, you have time to update your bookmarks (come on, if you don’t, now’s time to bookmark lordofgeek). Or get used to visiting that site instead of this.
I guess that it’s always the holidays that I do really crazy stuffs like these. Again, it’s probably because I have the time to do it. So yeah, go on, the next chapter in life has just opened for me. Hopefully it would for all of you too.
Wait wait wait, before you object. Let me explain why.
First and foremost, the word xtechbiz, has no meaning. I don’t even remember why I came up with that word.
Most of the famous/successful/good blogs have a proper name. And when I say a proper name, it doesn’t need to be something sensible. It just needs to have a meaning. Like, people would put their favourite things, or their names, or some words that make sense.
It’s usual fine if the name does not make sense, but it needs to be easy to remember. It also needs to not sound stupid. (when you say it out loud in your head)
To be brutally honest, xtechbiz fulfils none of those.
Also, the thing of having that senseless name for such a long time is starting to rub me off the wrong way. I’m fine with it as an email address or whatsoever, just, not a blog’s name.
For the first time ever, I’m going to have a poll. Please, if you’re one of the few who visits this blog regularly, just vote, it won’t take a minute. I have a couple of ideas. Of course, you could submit your own suggestions and I’ll take a look.
If the results is conclusive I’ll try my best to wrap up everything in 2 days (:
5 light blue
It all started a few years back in my secondary school, I had a friend called Micah. Now, Micah was a pretty interesting guy. He did lots of funny things but one of the most significant ones was that he always brought sweets to school. It could be mentos, chocolate, some gummy sweet, or more often than not, Eclipse.
In fact, out of all days I’ve seen him. There’s only probably a 5% chance that he didn’t have Eclipse with him. Also, he like to put it in his pocket, and if you ever carried a half eaten box of Eclipse in your pocket, you’ll be familiar with the
CLING! CLANG! CLANK!
That accompanies your every step. So during my last year, I decided that I can’t let this tradition die off. The revitalising sweets that you get during class, the rhythmic metal noise, the faggots who’ll always steal your sweets, I can’t let that fade off!
“Also, I really like the mints.”
Alright, maybe not so much of the browser itself, but how it manages sessions. I always have many tabs open. More often than not, they are completely unrelated stuffs and I like to jump from one thing to another. Sometimes I like to close one session (a group of tabs) and get back to it later. But I can’t.
Something needs to be done about that.
I don’t know if there are any solutions for it. But take a look at my desktop right now.
I’m just doing my daily stuffs and not heavy browsing. I have no choice but to use another browser (Opera) to view my Manga, so that I know that, every time I open Opera, all the Manga that I was reading will be there.
Sometimes when I’m reading an article. I found something I don’t know and decide to search on it. Then, I find something else interesting related and opened more tabs in that new window. It makes it hard for me to manage all of it without any form of session control.
“It is really annoying for me.”
Also, let’s say in the midst of all my browsing, something cropped up and I want to start an entirely new session without messing up the rest of my windows, it’s messy if I open a new tab in Chrome, it’s not organized if I open a new Chrome window. So I have to use another browser, for eg. IE9 or Firefox. So that I know that, if I accidentally close that window, I can restore my entire session.
Please, someone implement some sort of session control so that people can restore their sessions easily. And be able to create a shortcut?
I found that I could save all open tabs into a group in Google Chrome 14. Right click on the tab and and press bookmark all tabs. Or you can use Ctrl + Shift + D alternatively.
I guess that would work. But.. if you look at my bookmarks.
and each folder it’s kind of like this
So it’s not really a viable option for me. Not to mention that I can have 20~30+ tabs open at the same time. Well. Maybe you really can’t use what I do as normal usage. Still, I really hope that someone would do something about this.
I miss being in Primary school, or elementary school as others would put it.
My school used to have this, tradition. Everyone would each bring some snacks or sweets from home, then we’ll pool them together on a table. We’ll have games and shows and things to play with as we choose whatever snack we like from the table. “Fun” is understated when freedom and good food is available in school.
It pretty much sucks to grow up when I think about it like this. Though at my age, it’s a little confusing which age group I fall into.
“The society views me as a young adult,
but I’m legally adult,
but my mind’s still of a teen.”
Oh well. I think that children’s day should be a day where the young can have their part of fun, but the grown ups should be given a little leeway to relive their childhood. It’s a sucky notion that once you’ve lost your youth it’s forever gone.
I once had an idea of writing down all my thoughts as I grow up. For example, what makes me sad, what makes me sad, how my days are like. So that I can refer to it when I grow up. Of course, that did not work out as it’s too much of a pain to do it regularly. So the natural transition is to become a blogger…? I think it would be good enough of a reference to see what I’ve written in retrospective.
Still, I do try to keep track of my thoughts.
I find that, becoming more matured, simply means better control of your emotions.
Okay, I have a sudden burst of ideas, time for a new post! Bottom line,
Happy Children’s Day everyone! Unleash the inner child.
Shall not talk about what I did today, except that I had 1 plain 1 egg prata, 2 slices of large cheese sausage pizza, 1 slice of large Hawaiian pizza. (Canadian Pizza)
Um, here’s a picture I took the other day while practicing at SP.
Beautiful streak of orange across the sky. Could’ve taken a better shot but I was sitting down and feeling lazy.
I read on a blog recently,
“The best camera is the one that is with you.”
Couldn’t agree more with that. There are just so many moments in life that I find really beautiful. Often missed because I took my phone out too late, or I didn’t bring my camera along. Well, I would write more but my mind’s pretty blank right now.
Time for a wonderfully sensual sleep (:
