Shall not talk about what I did today, except that I had 1 plain 1 egg prata, 2 slices of large cheese sausage pizza, 1 slice of large Hawaiian pizza. (Canadian Pizza)
Um, here’s a picture I took the other day while practicing at SP.
Beautiful streak of orange across the sky. Could’ve taken a better shot but I was sitting down and feeling lazy.
I read on a blog recently,
“The best camera is the one that is with you.”
Couldn’t agree more with that. There are just so many moments in life that I find really beautiful. Often missed because I took my phone out too late, or I didn’t bring my camera along. Well, I would write more but my mind’s pretty blank right now.
Time for a wonderfully sensual sleep (:
Who knew that you can’t watch the sunrise on the east?
Yeah me neither. I did not know that Pasir Ris (park), though in the east location, is facing the north. So I missed it. Still, I managed to snap some shots of… sunlight I guess.
It was a birthday chalet for my classmate. Blah blah it was stupid, nothing to talk about that.
(but I’ll at least honour him with this picture)
Yes, that’ll be his birthday cake. (note: not bought by us)
Another note worthy.. note, is that we bought a bunch of durian related stuffs for him. Clearly because we knew that he was going to drink and get drunk. So we thought, why not take this opportunity and just K.O him with it?
Okay this is getting a little long, click on to see the sunlight~
“I climbed the Bukit Timah Hill,
because I can.”
First things first, it was steeper than I thought. There wasn’t really any picture I took that could convey how steep it was except for this.
Went with Z to test out my camera and he was just… practicing his skills I guess. Though I feel a little stupid holding a compact next to a DSLR. But that also means that I can take shots like this way easier than he could ^^
Honestly, this is a really boring place and there isn’t a lot of things that I could take picture of. I could, of course, keep taking shots like this.
But I find it really pointless to go around taking pictures of rocks and leaves. Our only saving grace at that time is.
I went for a networking competition today. Which honestly feels just like an exam, just, levels harder. 60mins is given for 100 questions, followed by 90mins given for practical. (network simulation)
So judging by the lack of prizes, I probably didn’t do very well.
In fact it’s a total waste of time.
There were more participants than I expected. 210 to be exact.
Anyway, I said it’s a waste of time because all almost all the prizes (if not all) went to Nanyang Polytechnic. … annoying.
The other reason is that, they didn’t release our scores.
I mean like, fine, I don’t mind not winning, BUT AT LEAST TELL US HOW WELL WE DID. WE SPENT 150MINS DOING THAT FUCKING TEST.
Either way, I learnt that there are many things that I haven’t learn. So well, on to another arduous learning journey. I’m finally free for a day this week.
edit: I forgot to post this picture up! this was during the prize presentation and there was a drum performance
So I’m back in my warm and cosy room again. And I can take my time to write this post out.
So.. first off. The chalet was… well, pretty boring to be honest. Because I haven’t recover yet so I can’t take part in much of the activities, and that we really didn’t do much anyway LOL.
Okay, this post will primary be on the camera. Let’s start by saying what I’m impressed about.
- Low light pictures
- “Bokeh” effect
- Video capability
The low light really blew me away. Like, let me show you the actual image in 100% crop. The vending machine on the left
My mouth literally went It’s really pretty amazing for a compact. And for the bokeh, I’ve demonstrated in the previous post. The software is more intelligent than I expected, even though it doesn’t work sometimes. Still, when it does, the result it produces is stunning.
As for the video… I recorded a few in 1080p and it’s.. kind of a pain to upload those. Cause a 40sec clip is 133MB (recorded at avg 28mbits/50p). Still, all the reviews were right, this is the first time I’ve ever handled a camera which it’s video capturing is better than the image. Go search Youtube for some of the samples and you’ll get what I’m saying.
Now for the down parts.
The image quality doesn’t really blow me away
There is no Aperture priority mode
And… that’s about it.
I mean, the quality of the image is GOOD, it just didn’t make me go WOW. Still, I still haven’t tested it inside out yet. Only taken a rough 100 pictures. And only about… 30 is good enough for me.
Anyway, though we didn’t really do much in the chalet, and it wasn’t like exciting or anything. I still think it’s pretty fun. Because well staying overnight with your classmates doing/playing stupid stuffs/games is always better than sleeping at home (:
(though seriously fuck you guys, what’s with the LAN party in a chalet)
Alright, I shall end off with, the best image I THINK I’ve taken.
(oh wait i forget to say, if you’re looking for a really versatile travelling camera. This is the one. It currently costs 550SGD)
Yep, we “surprised” him at Marina Barrage. Though well, it wasn’t much of a surprise but oh well, it worked out itself somehow!
Before I start on anything, I want to say that I don’t understand why people like to go there so much. There’s like nothing to do over there. Other than flying the stupid but awesome kite, looking at people, and the mesmerizing scenery over there. There’s like a significant amount of people over there on a frickin Monday. (Has September holidays started? I don’t know cause you know, everyday is a holiday to me)
So well, let me just start with the most awesome picture I took that day so that you would bother pressing the frigging read more link
Well, it’s not the actual day. But I visited my friend today and ate some pretty good food ^^
There was this really awesome view and I just couldn’t help but take a picture of it!
I can’t wait till I get my camera so that I can take even better pictures than this~ You know, thinking about it, Singapore really has a lot of trees. Well, just so happens that this area has more than usual. Still, it makes for a rather pretty sight (:
